1. Confirm your access
Open Flow Studio using the Autodesk account linked to your Education plan. If you still need access, follow Get free student access. For installation or licence questions, see Installation & licence help.
2. Learn the workflow
- Autodesk Flow Studio tutorial playlist — explore the tools and workflows.
- Flow Studio Help centre — find product documentation and technical guidance.
- See the Training & Support section on the contest page for the Rookies Live session and additional workflow resources.
3. Plan and create your shot
The challenge asks for a 10–30 second scene in a single shot, with a CG character interacting meaningfully with a live-action environment. Keep your idea focused on performance and storytelling.
Use live-action footage you filmed or have licensed, create your scene in Flow Studio, and refine it in other tools if needed. Check the full brief for the permitted workflow and judging criteria.
4. Prepare your entry
Check the current deliverables on the contest page before exporting. Sharing work in progress is encouraged so the judges can understand how your shot developed.
Our existing helpdesk covers creating an entry, adding media and details, selecting a contest, and submitting or saving your work. Follow those guides if this is your first Rookies entry.
5. Submit to the correct contest
Use Submit Entry on the Autodesk Flow Studio contest page. Complete the entry steps, select the correct contest when prompted and check the submission confirmation. Confirm the deadline on the contest page and allow time to resolve upload problems.
