Getting Involved

Level-Up

At The Rookies, leveling up is all about taking ownership of your journey. Whether you’re just starting out or on the cusp of breaking into the industry, your member level reflects where you are and helps you connect with the right opportunities. Here’s how to make the most of your level and keep advancing.

⚠️
Remember, everyone’s journey is different. Your level is just one way to measure progress, but the most important thing is to keep growing, learning, and contributing to the creative community.

What Are the Levels?

  • Debut: Just starting to explore creative industries, discovering your interests, and laying down the basics.
  • Player: Actively learning, experimenting, and refining your craft across mediums and styles.
  • Contender: Building a portfolio, seeking feedback, and preparing for industry opportunities.
  • Rookie: Gaining real-world experience through freelance work, internships, or a first job.
  • Pro: Established in your career, ready to mentor others and share your expertise.
  • All-Star: This special badge is awarded to exceptional members who go above and beyond, inspiring others with their achievements and contributions.

How to Update Your Level

You decide your level based on where you are in your creative journey. To update it:

  1. Go to Your Profile Settings: Head to the profile settings section of your dashboard.
  2. Select the Experience Tab: From the sidebar menu, click on “Experience.”
  3. Choose Your Level: Pick the level that best matches your current stage—be honest with yourself!
  4. Confirm and Save: Click “Level Up” and confirm your choice. Your profile will now reflect your updated level.

Why It Matters

Your member level isn’t just a label—it’s an essential tool for connecting with the right opportunities. It helps recruiters, mentors, and peers understand where you are in your journey. Plus, your level determines eligibility for specific contests, challenges, and even how you appear in member searches.

Pro Tip: Don’t set your level higher than your actual progress. Doing so might limit your opportunities to enter certain contests or appear in relevant searches. Be honest, and let your work speak for itself.

Tips for Leveling Up

  • Be Honest: Set your level accurately. Claiming a higher level could limit your opportunities and make it harder for others to engage with you meaningfully.
  • Engage with the Community: Participate in contests, ask for feedback, and connect with other members to improve your skills.
  • Work on Your Portfolio: Share projects that reflect your growth and expertise. A polished portfolio is the key to advancing.
  • Stay Curious: Keep learning through guides, bootcamps, and certifications available on the platform.
