If You Remove a School

• It’s removed from your active shortlist
• Your connection history remains for your records
• Personal data is anonymised on our end for GDPR compliance

If you want a school to delete your data from their systems, you’ll need to contact them directly.

You can’t unsend an introduction, but you can remove the school from your shortlist at any time.

How long until a school responds?
Most schools reply within a few days to a week. If you haven’t heard back after two weeks, a direct follow-up via their website is reasonable.

Do I need a portfolio before connecting?
Not always. Some schools receive a link to your Rookies profile depending on their partnership level. Even a small amount of work can help show motivation, but it isn’t required for most schools.

Can I Use Someone Else’s Work Without Their Permission?

In some cases, yes - but only under strict conditions.

If you're using someone else’s work for educational reference only - not for resale, monetisation, or professional promotion - and you clearly explain this in your project description, you generally do not need explicit permission.

This is considered acceptable under fair use / fair dealing principles in many regions for non-commercial, educational use.

But:

• You must credit the original creator (name + link if possible)
• You must not imply the idea or work is yours
• You must not use the work in a commercial, promotional, or monetised context

If your project copies or recreates someone else’s design, say so explicitly and give them credit.

During the Talk

• Timing: Talks typically last 45 minutes to an hour.
• Participation: Present in a Discord video channel, and engage with audience questions via chat or live Q&A.

After the Talk

• Stick around for informal chats with attendees.
• A recording (if applicable) and session highlights will be shared with the community.

Tips for a Successful Talk
