Can I submit a password protected video to an entry page?

We understand that some people have their work submitted to other contests and film festivals and they require privacy. We have you covered with this at The Rookies.

When you embed a Vimeo video, there is a Password input field available to enter your private password.

Important:

  • If you do not see the video password field, it means you are creating a project for your portfolio and not an entry for a contest.

  • Video passwords are only supported with Vimeo videos. YouTube does not support the sharing of passwords with their API.

When you input a password, two things happen:

  • your entry displays a password required video to the public. They will not have this code, so they can't watch it. However, when you ever remove this privacy option, everyone will see the video.

  • the judges will have access to see the password and use it to watch your video.

Tip: Even though you can't share the video, make sure to include any teaser videos or images that will help get the community excited about your project.
